Familiar for Mac
Your Windows reflexes, working on a Mac.
Switched from Windows and keep reaching for shortcuts that don't exist? Familiar puts them back. It sits quietly in the menu bar and does four things:
- Cut and paste files in Finder. Select, press ⌘X, open the destination, press ⌘V. Finder moves them. Nothing moves until you paste.
- Switch between windows with ⌥ Tab, the way Alt+Tab does: every open window, most recent first, with optional live previews.
- Clipboard history on ⌘⇧V. Text, images and files, in a panel right where you're typing. Pin what you reuse, clear the rest.
- The Windows keys you miss. ⌃⌥⌫ opens Activity Monitor, ⌃⌥ + arrows snap windows, ⌥F4 closes the window, ⌃W closes the tab.
Private by design. No network access, no accounts, nothing collected. Your clipboard history stays on your Mac.
Familiar is coming to the Mac App Store. Requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Questions: support · privacy policy.
